Three Stones and Little People Big Noise’s ‘Seeds of Hope’ project has inspired new musical works and community gardens in and around Calderdale.

We were in the middle of preparing a blog post about the exciting new musical work from Benjamin Ellin, commissioned for the English Chamber Orchestra when one of our Calderdale Team sent us a picture of a road sign.

To the passer-by this is just a reminder about the exciting series events taking place at Shibden Hall during August but for us at Little People Big Noise and Three Stones Media the sign represents way more than a festival celebration.

Ben Ellin’s commission, due to be premiered at the Stage At The Lake prom concert, emerges out of three years of intense work developing award-winning music education programmes for schools and community groups in Calderdale, supported by the English Chamber Orchestra.

Twelve months ago, Seeds of Hope was a primary school project focusing on music and film in support of a UNESCO sustainability initiative. In the next few weeks, stories and music created by young participants engaging with our projects will be transformed into a series of wonderful community gardens destined for site around the Calderdale region.

Our Lights Camera Score work and our team’s commitment to Seeds of Hope reinforce how our vision for creativity, music and culture can connect communities both locally and globally.

‘Stage At The Lake’ commences next week, with our friends at the English Chamber Orchestra playing at the proms on the 15th August 2026. You can find out more and purchase get tickets here.
