Three Stones and the music teams get busy in the relative cool of the Victoria Theatre, Halifax, as they prepare for a musical summer.
It’s been a busy week for Three Stones and our music teams as we immersed ourselves in the relative cool of the Victoria Theatre, Halifax.
On Monday, an audience at the Victoria Theatre were treated to a performance by the English Chamber Orchestra (ECO) supporting the nearly formed Calderdale Youth Music Ensemble.
The Calderdale students, working alongside ECO professionals, delivered the premier performance of a new arrangement of the Malcolm Arnold English Dances.
On Tuesday, eight Calderdale primary schools performed their Lights Camera Score (LCS) compositions supported by our performance team and members of the English Chamber Orchestra.
With the sounds of ‘Seeds of Hope’ songs echoing around the Victoria theatre auditorium, on Tuesday afternoon, Dr Gregory Boardman led the English Chamber Orchestra as they performed a special concert to a packed house of local schools. The assembled young people were treated to an unforgettable musical journey starting with Purcell and ending with a ‘Golden’ K-pop moment!
The London heatwave impacted on our schedule somewhat, but we are delighted that a bespoke training day for the Essex Music Hub was able to take place online. We are laying the foundations for some exciting project work that will be delivered in tandem with the Essex service during 2026 and 2027.
The Little People Big Noise team are back at Three Stones HQ, getting ready for performances in early July, whilst also focusing on our work supporting the ‘Stage at the Lake’ festival in August. You can find out more about the festival and get tickets here.
In the meanwhile, keep an eye out for eleven brand new films from this year’s ‘Seed of Hope’ project in the coming weeks!
